Our classes are hands – on, we want you to be able to really see, feel, smell, make and taste the food in our classes so you can confidently use what you have learned at home.
How do I book a class
Spaces in our school are limited to 12 per cooking class, so booking is essential Bookings can be made online via the cooking school page, over the phone or in store at String + Salt . Bookings need to be paid in full to reserve a place.
When Should Arrive
Please arrive 10 – 15 minutes before your classes starting time so we can organise you a coffee and give you a name tag
Can I Give a Class as a gift?
Cooking classes make fabulous gifts. When you make an online booking you will be asked if the class is a gift and for the recipients name We will contact you and post you a pretty gift certificate should you require one.
Where are the classes held and where should I park?
All classes are held at the String + Salt Kitchen, 42 Smith Street Warragul.
If you are coming to a class during business hours we suggest you take advantage of one of the all day parking spots situated around the CBD. If you are not familiar with Warragul, the Warragul Business Group provides and All Day Parking Map here.
I have special dietary requirements, what should I do?
We will try make every attempt to accommodate dietary requirements where possible. Please contact us with any special dietary needs prior to making a booking. Please note some classes may not be suitable for people with certain food allergies or dietary conditions and we cannot guarantee a gluten or nut free environment.
Please also inform your teacher at the beginning of the class if you have special requirements.
How old to participants need to be?
Regular Series: all participants under the age of 18 must be in the presence of a parent or guardian for entirety of the class.
Kids in the Kitchen Series: these classes are designed for children aged between 5 and 14 years. A parent or guardian must be present for the entirety of the class.
What should I bring?
If you need to bring something special along we’ll let you know. We provide all equipment, ingredients and recipes but you may wish to bring a notebook. Please wear closed-toe shoes to your class, we want safe toes at all times.
TERMS + Conditions
Cancellations
Cancellations must be made with at least 14 days notice. Classes cancelled with less than fourteen days notice cannot be refunded. You may however give your ticket to a friend in your place.
Transfers
Please be aware that reservations and vouchers are only transferable or refundable with at least 7 days notice. Your booking may be transferred to another available class if you contact us by phone at least 7 days prior to the class.
We will also allow for your reservation to be transferred to someone else if for some reason you are unable to attend.
Class Changes
String + Salt may occasionally change or cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, teacher illness or unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event that a class is cancelled, we will contact you by email or telephone and provide you with options for an alternative class date or you may request a transfer to another class of your choice if there is availability. You can also request a full refund if a class is cancelled.
