As the weather warms up and the festive season approaches we asked Ying to share her ideal celebration menu.

 Ying grew up in Bangkok at the skirt of her mother who ran a small restaurant from the front of her house. Helping after school in the restaurant, Ying liked nothing more than getting into the kitchen and asking lots of questions.

Arriving in Australia 6 years ago gave Ying the opportunity to follow in her mother’s footsteps, opening her own little restaurant, Ying's Krua Thai, in her new home town of Neerim South in 2015.  It quickly become a popular location for authentic Thai food.  

In this class Ying will share her favourite traditional fragrant and colourful celebration dishes, enjoyed on holidays, weddings and festivals including:

  • Kao Soi Gai;  Northern style chicken curry noodles

  • Steamed whole fish with garlic, lime and chilli

  • Bean Vermicelli soup

  • Coconut rice

Ying is passionate about sharing the authentic flavours of Thailand using fresh whole ingredients, she is also in possession of a deliciously daggy sense of humour ensuring everyone who attends her classes leave with a full belly and a big smile.
