Melanie is well love in the String & Salt kitchen for her super nutritious, mindful meals, and delicious recipes accomodating all kinds of dietary requirements.  

Mel’s chef career has mostly centred around whole foods and health but a recent detour into the food truck industry gave her a great insight into current food trends and building big flavour fast.  Her resume has included stints as head chef at vegetarian establishment Monk Bodhi Dharma, My Goodness Organics and Pressed Juices and Ceres Community Environment Park. 

In 2018 she launched her own business Mettle + Grace offering one-on-one personalised meal planning and cooking classes especially aimed at individuals with allergies, intolerances and food restrictions.  

In this class Mel will fuse her vegan expertise with her food truck grill skills to present some super tasty, super fast food including moreish ‘cheezy’ cashews , popcorn tofu , Indian dosas , spicy Mexican beans with polenta chips, eggplant skewers, street truck donuts , salted caramel and banana pops and  little lime tarts. 

Come along to enjoy the warm summer evening, maybe play a few rounds of lawn bowls and wash down those tasty morsels with some fruity Kombucha slushies or a craft beer.
