Always besotted by the flavours of the Middle East, a two month vocational and cultural exchange in Turkey in 2015  just cemented Mich’s  love for the culture and food of the Ottoman region.

In the melting pot of Istanbul you can taste the flavours of the entire nation.  This street food class is inspired by the wonderful mix of flavours and ingredients you can taste as you walk around this Iconic city on the Bospherus..

As she travelled east, beyond the capital Ankara, throughout Anatolia and returned along the Mediterranean coast, Mich picked up recipes for pastries, kebabs, dips, salads, pickles and sweet treats; many of which have become favourites she loves to share at String + Salt.
