A cultural and vocational exchange to Turkey a few years back left an indelible impression on Michelle.  Experiencing Turkish hospitality first hand while living with 11 Turkish Families, Michelle travelled through Istanbul, Eskisehir, Ankara, Adiyaman, Adana, Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Antakya, Mersin, Tarsus, Konya, Alanya and Antalya cooking with her hosts, and noting down recipes and menu items at every stop.

Wandering bazaars, drinking strong sweet coffee, seeking out spices and syrup soaked pastries and trying every possible street food are still some of her most fond travel memories.

In this hands on class learn to make a delicious array of charcoal cooked kebap, mezze and boreck, Hünkar Beğendi a slow cooked lamb stew beloved by the Ottoman Sultans, Sariği Burma a Black Sea inspired walnut baclava, as well as plentiful colourful Turkish salads.

This feast is accompanied by traditional Turkish tea, coffee, ayran and Raki and the urge to take a full bellied afternoon nap.
