Barbie Bikkie Seasoning

9.90

So, there’s these tasty little savoury bikkies that we’ve all grown up on. You know the ones…they’re named after geometric figures and supposedly flavoured like something cooked outdoors over an open flame.

Anyway, the company - let's just say they are nuts – that’s made these delicious morsels since the 1950's; decided, with the collective wisdom of a company turning over $1b per annum, to change the recipe.

Well, while they’ve been stuffing with the formula, we've been developing you a spice blend reminiscent of the moreish red and green seasoning you used to dip your fingers into and lick out of the corner of packets.

Try this delicious little seasoning with more than just bikkies...why not really barbie up your next barbie, glam up your roast veggies or add real impact a pizza.

Outdoor Grill Flavoured Geometric Figure Bikkies

200g plain flour
¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
100mL cold water
50mL neutral vegetable oil
1½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Extra oil, for brushing
30g S+S Barbie Bikkie Seasoning

1/ Preheat oven to 170oC.
2/ Combine flour, salt, water, oil and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl and mix into a sticky dough.
3/ Turn onto a floured surface and knead until dough is soft and elastic.
4/ Divide into four portions and cover until required.
5/ Take each portion and roll out between two sheets of baking until about 2mm thick.
6/ Cut dough into desired geometric figures on the baking paper. Keep off cuts for next batch.
7/ Brush or spray figures with a little extra oil and bake for 16 to 20 minutes, until light golden and very crisp.
8/ Brush or spray bikkies with a little oil and sprinkle with seasoning. Allow to cool and store in airtight container.
9/ Repeat with remaining dough.

Makes enough heavily seasoned geometric figures to fill approximately 2.37 green cardboard boxes.
