When late summer comes around we are inundated with questions about preserving and bottling so this is our ode to the tomato.

The tomato glut has crept up on you again, you didn’t plan it, they just sort of self-seeded in the compost heap, and now they have all decided to get nice and ripe all at the same time. Let’s not even mention the zucchinis. ( Just look for open car doors and shove them in!)

While it’s great to make pasatta, and we’ll definitely show you how to do that, we have lots of other fab ways to preserve your juicy reds for later in the year. We’ll show you how to bottle your own herby semi-dried tomatoes, a slow roasted sauce recipe that will please the whole family and a spiced-up tomato jam, and a hearty Spanish inspired soup, plus a few other tasty tommy tips and recipes. 

A night of tomato cookery would not be complete without a generous bowl of pasta and a hearty glass of Vino, so of course these will be liberally provided! So roll up your sleeves for some tomato crushing camaraderie
